Setting Up Your Account: Artist’s Account

 

Creating an account on the platform is the gateway to having a great time exploring and streaming your favourite songs on the platform. But for an Artist, it is much more than the experience. It allows you to claim and manage your content on the platform.

Why you should choose us

It is absolutely free – our platform is free for users of all categories. You don’t have to pay a dime to us or to anyone to access our services

There is no third party – you don’t have to pay to anybody to get your songs on our platform, to manage your songs or to make money from it. You can do all that by yourself.

When you set up an Artist account you get to decide what you want to do with your content on the platform. You can decide to make money from it by putting up your song for sale at your chosen price, or you can make it available to be downloaded for free.

 

So how do I set up my account?

Step 1: Register

Click here to register – Account Registration

For the account type select Artist account. Please fill in your details correctly.

 

Step 2: Activate Your Account

After registering you will get an email from the Epoh Music Team. Click on the ‘activate your account’ icon in the mail. When you click, it will direct you to your account page on the platform. Without activating your account you can’t use your account on the platform.

 

Step 3: Verify Your Account

I’m sure you are wondering how this is different from the last step. After activating your account, your account is just a regular user account until you verify your identity as an artist. This gives you access to your artist dashboard where you’ll be able to select your songs, put them up for sale or available for free download.

To start, click on the 'Verify' icon at the top of your home screen, you’ll be directed to the biodata form page. Please ensure that you fill in your details correctly and provide all required documents.

This is necessary so that someone else won’t claim your songs on the platform and make money from them by putting them up for sale. This also an account you’ll receive money on so make sure that all your details tally.

 

Step 4: Sign the Contract

This a very important stage as the contract addresses the terms and conditions of song sales on the platform. It clearly outlines the responsibility and expectations of each party – Epoh Music and the Artist.

This used to be a compulsory step in the verification process but in our latest update, it has been made optional. You can skip this step and come back to it later. However, the contract must be duly signed before you can put up your song for sale on the platform. 

How do I sign?

• Download the contract
• Read through and fill all necessary columns that has not been auto-filled.
• Sign the contract – you can do this on your WPS office
•  Upload the signed contract

If you don’t sign the contract, you won’t be able to give the rights for sale, but you can give right for the song to be streamed and downloaded for free on the platform. The free download is also optional

To sign the contract later, just go to your settings page and Click on the account management option for a link to the contract page.

 

What next?

Wait for the Admin to approve your verification request. After the approval, you’ll be able to claim your songs on the platform and manage them.

We have a lot to be grateful for this year and I’m sure it’s the same for you. 2020 has been unlike any year we have had. It is a year that got to every one of us. We all had something to lose, we all had something to let go. But hey, it’s Christmas, and we are still here.

December 2020 Release

Wow, guys! 2020 has really been that year, but through it all, we are still here, and alive, now that’s something worth raising a glass and dancing to. And who has the best lineup of Music for that supa dance???  Epoh Music!

Yes, that's right. It’s that time of the year where our hearts are warmed and our feet quick to dance because we are grateful for the year we have had.

All through this year, we have worked to improve the platform to ensure that you have a great experience when streaming and dancing to your favourite songs.

We have added the baddest albums and singles of the year, and guess what, there is a song for everyone!  

We have also added some new and exciting features on the platform that allows you to connect with your friends and explore our business tools to make CASH!

 

So what’s new?

THE SHARE BUTTON

I particularly love this feature because it allows you to connect with your friends who are not on the platform, they get to see what you’re listening to and can listen to it also.

 

But how?

On this updated version of the site, when you open an Album page, you’ll see a share button at the top. When you click on this button you can share your album/ this album with your friends on social media.

They will get the message of the link to the album you shared in their message inbox, their WhatsApp, Instagram DM, Facebook messenger, basically any social media platform of your choice.

ARTIST ACCOUNT VERIFICATION

This is a very important update on the platform. There are 3 different types of account on the platform: the Regular account, the Artist account, and the Show organiser account.

All these accounts give you access to stream songs on the platform unlimited, buy show tickets and even buy songs. But for the artist account, unless you apply for verification, your account will simply function as a regular account.

 

Why?

Because verification grants you access to features that will allow you to take over the rights of your song on the platform. This way you’re able to make your song available for sale at your chosen price or available for free download

 

How do I get verified?

When you sign in to your artist account, you’ll see a verification icon at the top of your home screen. When you click the icon it will direct you to the verification page.

Please fill in your details correctly and provide all necessary documents. This is very important because we don’t want impostors coming to claim the right to your song and making money off them by putting it up for sale.

 

And the contract?

Yes, the contract. The contract is for the song sales feature you have to sign a contract showing that you agree to the terms and conditions of song sales on the platform.

This used to be a compulsory step, but in our recent update, it has been made optional. So if you’re not ready to put your songs up for sale, you can skip this part and sign when you’re ready to start selling.

Wait a minute!

The contract must be duly signed when you upload it back on the platform, otherwise, the contract will be invalid.

 

SHOW TICKETS

In our last blog post, we talked about the process of uploading and selling your show tickets on the platform. So this time we added something a little extra.

Links to the page of show tickets put up for sale that were shared before, during and after a show will now remain active after the show and always.

 

What’s the difference?

Previously, after the show, the link to the ticket page expires. Now you can still view the details of the show wherever you need to refer to it.
