Fireboy, and 4 others who need to step up their game in 2024

The Nigerian music industry stands at the cusp of a transformative era, with 2024 promising to be a pivotal chapter in the narrative of African music. With a rich tapestry of diverse talents and genres, Nigeria has long been a powerhouse in the global music scene.

This year holds the promise of fresh innovation, groundbreaking collaborations, and a renewed commitment to artistic excellence.

From Afrobeat and Afro-fusion to hip-hop and gospel, the Nigerian music landscape is a melting pot of creativity, and the time has come for these artists to seize the opportunity to push boundaries and redefine the standards.

We understand that challenges such as mental health, record label issues, and many others deprive some of these artists of topping their game, but we hope they overcome their challenges this year and deliver to their fans

Let's take you through some of the Nigerian artists who need to step up their game in the year 2024.

FIREBOY

Fireboy DML once gave us hit records back to back, but times are different with his career as the tempo has changed and it appears that he's gradually losing the grasp he had on people. The musician is still hot but not like when he just started in the game. His 2023 hit song, Oba Sima did well, but he can do better.

RUGER

The Nigerian singer rose to fame with the song "Bounce" and signed a record deal in 2021 with Jonzing World. The musician has been serving fans hot hot, but we want him to do better this year

DI'JA

Di'ja has been in the game for almost a decade or more, signed to Mavin Records. She cooked and released a song in 2023, but it seems her inconsistency is serving as a stumbling block to her growth.

CHIDINMA

Chindima, a Nigerian singer dumped Afrobeat for gospel music. Switching genres is no sin, but we miss the days of Kedike. With the great vocals possessed, there's no doubt that she can shake the gospel music industry, hence we plead that Chindima step up her game in the year 2024.

WURLD

Wurld definitely had us on chokehold with his unique sound a few years ago. However, we are unaware of what happened in his musical journey. We want the musician to step up his game this year and top the charts with his sounds like he did with Trobul.

Asake

Nigeria was fully represented on Barack Obama's Favourite Music list for 2023.

The former US president has cultivated the habit of sharing the list at the end of every year.

Many talented artists look forward to making it to the list, as an acknowledgment from him endorses their career.

The 2023 music list proves that Barack is a huge fan of Nigerian music, and he's always been a fan from way back.
