| The Headies 2025 to hold in Nigeria |
The Headies, Nigeria's esteemed music award ceremony, is set to return to its homeland for its 17th edition on April 5, 2025, in Lagos.
This marks a significant homecoming after the event's relocation to Atlanta, USA, where both the 2022 and 2023 editions were held.
The decision to bring the ceremony back to Nigeria was officially announced by the organizers, with the Headies Executive Producer, Mr. Ayo Animashaun, revealing the date during an unveiling event on January 28.
The upcoming 17th edition will honor musical achievements from the period of April 1, 2023, to July 31, 2024. Notably, the Headies plans to host two editions within the same calendar year, with the 18th edition scheduled for December 2025, celebrating music from the latter half of 2024 and a significant portion of 2025.
This dual-event strategy aims to realign the award's annual calendar, which experienced disruptions leading to the cancellation of the 2024 edition due to unforeseen circumstances.
The Headies' return to Nigeria is anticipated to reignite local enthusiasm and celebrate the nation's vibrant music industry on its home turf.
