| Shallipopi breaks ties with Dapper Music over financial and contractual disputes |
Nigerian music star Shallipopi has announced his departure from Dapper Music and Dvpper Digital, citing issues of betrayal and exploitation as the reasons behind his decision.
In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, the Cast hitmaker disclosed that the move was one of the toughest decisions of his career.
"I've made one of the toughest decisions of my career. Today, I'm officially ending my agreements with Dapper Music and Dvpper Digital. This wasn't a choice I made lightly, but it's a step I had to take after my trust was broken, my finances mishandled, and my rights as an artist were disregarded," he wrote.
Shallipopi listed three key reasons for his departure:
- A conflict of interest that betrayed his career.
- Lack of transparency regarding his finances.
- An "unfair forever deal."
The artist expressed gratitude to fans for their unwavering support and urged them to avoid engaging with his former labels.
"Please do not engage with Dapper Music and Entertainment Limited or Dvpper Digital Limited about anything related to me, as they no longer represent me starting from this moment. I promise to keep you updated as I move forward," he stated.
Shallipopi ended on a hopeful note, calling for a fairer music industry and thanking his supporters for standing by him.
